I guess the point of what I&#039;m saying above is that it&#039;s not so much about story as about writing something that showcases the characters, tone, and &#039;gist&#039; of the book.  If you can write a synopsis that does all three of those things, then by all mean, get going.  But, I find that for the most part, the skill sets for being a great creative writer and writing great synopses are not necessarily the same thing.  I know that I&#039;m pretty lousy at synopsis writing myself.  

So, write what you can write well, that really conveys what you&#039;re going for with the project, rather than what you think they need or want.</description>

You mentioned that your package would normally contain a multi-page synopsis. What if you&#039;re submitting to a publisher where you don&#039;t have a previous relationship and they ask for no more than a one page pitch? Is that first page in the TUMOR document all you would typically include or would it a shorter version of the synopsis you mentioned?
